This is the best guitar book I have ever seen. Why wasn't I taught all related fingerings at once like this does?

Amazing concept. All the fingerings that go together for any chord or key. The complete blueprint of the axe.

I have been taking lessons with Bob Ferry and using his method since 6th grade. I am now currently in my third year studying at Berklee College of Music and have yet to find a more musical and logical way of thinking about the guitar. This method is truly special and will give you a complete understanding of the guitar.

This should be the Holy Book for Guitar players.

This should be the core of a college curriculum.

A great book for serious guitar players. It is a must for your music library.

I've been a musician for many years playing in different bands in the NJ area and I always felt that I needed to step up my playing ability. I signed up for classes with Bob Ferry and as soon as we got started, I knew that Bob was an exceptional teacher and a phenomenal guitar player. Just watching him play helps me figure out what I need to do as a musician. I've been a student of Bob Ferry's Visualizing Musicality program for several years now and my playing ability and confidence has grown to a level that I didn't think possible.

Bob takes the time to learn about your playing style and musical interests and builds that into the instruction. That alone helped me apply the technical side of playing guitar to songs that I enjoy. I've learned hundreds of songs of all styles over the years with Bob, and I now know how to examine new material and evaluate songs on a professional level. As a recording engineer and producer, I use this knowledge on a daily basis to help my clients with their material when questions arise. It's such a valuable tool that will help guitarists at any level!

Finding a guitar teacher like Bob Ferry is a rarity. I’ve been playing guitar and steadily taking lessons since the age of nine and I have gone through many teachers. Then, I met this man. Bob is both an extremely impressive guitarist as well as a very thoughtful and organized teacher. That is what makes him stand apart. I have always recognized these two key elements in effective teachers and to find them both in one person is just amazing. Bob shaped the way I play the guitar. So, no matter how many teachers I have for the rest of my life, Bob will always remain on the highest pedestal. He cultivated my understanding of music theory and guitar technique in ways that I never thought possible.

At the very least, investigate his several concepts on how to organize the guitar. He has whole systems of thought that catalog each and every scale, arpeggio, chord voicing, picking patterns, and so much more. I use them myself to teach my own private students.

Taking lessons with Bob brought the clarity and musicianship I was yearning. Bob helped me learn the guitar’s fretboard and taught me physical exercises to improve my picking and strength of my fret hand. He taught me how to approach the guitar and encourage me to try out different set ups, string gauges and string action. More importantly, he imparted to me the idea that the guitar is a physical instrument.

Bob called this form of teaching Visualizing Musicality. He had devised a polished system of music teaching that allowed guitarists to view, organize, and learn the guitar fretboard through a series of fingerings. This system has played an important role in my own teaching. The years I spent as Bob’s student allowed me to become a musician, a guitar teacher, and more importantly, provided the foundation and encouragement to pursue music as a second career. I am currently finishing a master’s degree in jazz history and research. Without Bob’s guidance and wisdom, I would not have attained all these successes. Still to this day, when I learn a new song or practice a new exotic scale, I reflect on all the past lessons I obtained with Bob and continue to grow from it.

As a Berklee College of Music alumnus, Bob Ferry's musicianship is beyond measure, teaching and performing music his entire life. He knows what is needed in this modern musical world to be a great musician.  Moreover, he has the ability and fervor to enable his students - no matter what level they may be at - to excel. I found Bob Ferry's insight and unique methodical approach, as well as his extreme passion and motivation, to be hugely inspirational.

As for myself, Bob Ferry took me as his student when I was fifteen years old. At this point I was a beginner, and I could barely play a "C" chord, but my goal was to advance myself within two years in order to study music at the collegiate level. And with Bob Ferry's help, I did. After graduating from high school, I left to attend The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where I majored in jazz guitar and music composition; I then remained an additional year to obtain m Master's in Education degree. I am convinced that I wouldn't be where I am today without Bob Ferry's guidance and brilliant musicianship.

Prior to studying with Bob my repertoire was limited to a few songs with a minimal use of scales and no correlation between the two. Since I started taking guitar lessons with Bob, I can't believe how far I have come. His method of Visualizing Musicality has made the instrument easy to learn, fun to explore and has taken away the mystery. As a full-time engineer, knowing how things work is extremely important to me. Bob has provided me with the tools to take my music to the next step.

This is great. The Dominant in all three scales. I didn't get this in college.
